Celebrates Local Artists and Films for Its 15th Season

Venice, CA, October 5th, 2018 The Other Venice Film Festival (OVFF), a community event dedicated to screening full-length, short and animated films that embody the spirit, energy and diversity of Venice, returns for its 15th season. The festival will run from Friday, October 5th, to Sunday, October 7th, with opening-night appearances Thomas Simon 7pm & The Puscie Jones Revue 10pm

The 2018 OVFF, taking place at the Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice, will feature filmmakers, panel discussions, local artist and parties. On Friday, there will be a screening of Feature Film 8pm The Guest House & Short film Jaglom.

Saturday features include multiple screenings of documentaries, shorts and special screenings . That evening at Beyond Baroque, there will be a world premiere screening of the Feature Documentary American Relapse as well as a Q & A with Director Pat Mc Gee. In addition,artist Gary Palmer will also have his work on display at the Beyond Baroque.

Film maker's lounge will be located at 23 Windward Ave, Venice, CA 90291 Surfside Bar & Grill upstairs Saturday October 6th 1pm- 7pm.

The event closes on Sunday October 7th with a Venice Duck beer garden and an awards ceremony with a live performance by Skye Delamey before Awards & closing ceremonies a Live performance by Big Mess free to the public.

The spirit of the festival is rooted in the Venice community and celebrates the passion of local artists while embracing the talent of international filmmakers, said Reuben De La Casas, founder of the festival. (The caliber of international filmmakers attending the festival this year is something not many other film festivals of our size can take pride in. I am excited to watch the festival as it continues to grow each year.)

Some of past year sponsors include Stella Artois, Yelp and Doritos, which is in its second year of sponsorship for its (Crash the Super Bowl) contest, which receives submissions from both professional and amateur filmmakers for the chance to win $1 million and have their commercial appear during the Super Bowl. Tickets for the festival are $15.00 per screening and $40.00 for the Venice Duck sponsored beer garden.
